BOOKS AND HOW-TO GUIDES

If you want a customized “how-to” guide related to the workforce system, PowerNotes will research and develop one to meet your needs.
Currently, we are developing two for Local Workforce Areas: How to Diversify Funding and How to Negotiate Pay for Performance.
Every single person is unique in terms of who we are and why we are the way we are. We all have a variety of diverse influences that mold us, shape us, and change us into the person we are. Only YOU can decide what your defining moments are.

This self-exploration book written by MaryAnn Lawrence of PowerNotes LLC provides an easy and fast read to help you and your jobseekers understand more about why you are the way you are. The included Inventory of Life Events will help identify good and bad defining moments and get you on a path of behavior modification needed to make your desired changes.
Local Workforce Areas and Community-Based Organizations search for opportunities to diversify their funding. Of particular interest is charging fees for services, typically employer services, that are not fully funded by existing grants. This informative guide provides “how-to” including strategic planning, legal requirements, business plan development, fee-for-service ideas, circular A-87, product/service activity, marketing strategies, financial management and a sample business plan.
Local Workforce Areas are charged with either participating in existing sector partnership groups or establishing groups for each of its demand industries identified within the WIOA Local Integrated Plan. There have been a variety of methods introduced to help with this process, however, most are cumbersome and require greater time commitments than business representatives are willing to give. This guide will provide an EXPRESS approach to creating and maintaining sector partnership groups that considers business needs and expectations and how with minimal engagement career pathways can be created for demand industries and occupations.
